Cross Pollination: Community Biodiversity Program Cummington

March 2026-present

Cross Pollination is a participatory, community-wide biodiversity restoration and education initiative, organized in partnership between Cummington Tree Alliance, Hilltown Vision, Wing and a Prayer Nursery, and Cummington Cultural District.

Programs Include:
- Climate-Resilient Tree and Shrub Distribution and Planting
- Community Orchard and Historic Garden
- Development of a Pollinator Corridor with Broad Community Participation
- Experiential Learning, Interpretive Signage & Educational Guides

The Cultural District along Main Street serves as the central hub. Residents are invited to take part in a range of activities, from talks and film screenings to participation in home planting programs with free trees, shrubs, and pollinator plants to grow and maintain with expert guidance.

As the point person for the Cultural District, point on development and implementation of a suite of educational guides, interpretive signage design, communications & outreach, and operational administration.
